Book analyses effects of coaching on footballers

Flinders University in South Australia has published a collection of research papers on the science of Australian Rules Football.

Advances in Australian Football – A Sociological and Applied Science Exploration of the Game, includes chapters on research in areas such as fitness, nutrition and coaching theories.

Launching the book in Adelaide, Flinders sports academic and co-editor Shane Pill said research into coaching techniques showed that developing “thinking” players resulted in better team performances.
