Fashion takes top prize in Sydney start-up awards

Communications graduate Blaise McCann has won a University of Technology Sydney competition to identify and mentor early stage business entrepreneurs.

McCann is the founder and chief executive of Hear Us Roar, a fashion company aimed at providing interesting and imaginative clothing designs for younger plus-sized women.

In a UTS statement, McCann said she had worked as a plus-sized model for 10 years and was frustrated by limited clothing choices that were “boring, expensive and aimed at older women”.
