Australia’s main research funding agency has appointed global data management company Clarivate Analytics to provide citation information for its national research evaluation framework in 2018.
The agency had used Elsevier Scopus for the previous three assessment rounds.
Australian Research Council chief executive Sue Thomas said that citation analysis played a major role in the Excellence in Research for Australia assessments, which serve as “a national stocktake” of research disciplines.
