Method helps men take responsibility for family violence

Research suggests that ‘invitational narrative intervention’ could bring about long-term change

Talking to men about behavioural change is “a critical first step” in reducing family violence, according to research by Flinders University in South Australia.

It was commissioned by Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety and led by social work professor Sarah Wendt. She has published a number of studies on domestic violence, including ways to change male behaviour.
