Gaming headsets could help detect concussion in sports

Modified video gaming headsets are being used to measure the impact of concussion on Australian Rules footballers and rugby players in a study by Macquarie University in Sydney.

The study involves around 60 players from the university’s amateur rugby and AFL teams, as well as professional AFL players from the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

It is led by Paul Sowman and Bianca De Wit from the department of cognitive science.
