Lightweight design can be used to power infrastructure in remote locations
A renewable energy startup based at the University of Newcastle in regional New South Wales has received $400,000 from an Australian venture capital company to develop an enclosed-blade wind turbine suitable for small spaces.
The Diffuse Energy company was founded by three research engineers at the university. They have created an alternative to traditional open-blade wind turbines, which often have an operating span of up to 160 metres.
