Tasmania campus gets $30m to become naval research hub

Innovation and design precinct will be set up to support Department of Defence projects

The University of Tasmania has signed a $30 million deal with the Department of Defence to expand defence science research at its Launceston campus.

The three-year agreement will fund the development of a Defence and Maritime Innovation and Design Precinct at the Australian Maritime College, which is part of UTAS.
