CRC bids will benefit from growth centre contacts

One of Australia’s top research policy experts has advised all bidders involved in the latest Cooperative Research Centres funding round to talk with the recently launched Industry Growth Centres when developing their proposals.

The CRC Association’s chief executive Tony Peacock says that although the federally funded centres are unlikely to invest in CRCs, they can provide important industry contacts and advice on sharpening research strategies.

In an email to CRC participants and potential bidders on 19 January, Peacock says it “would be silly” to develop a bid that might be relevant to an industry growth centre without talking to the centre “at a very early stage”.
