Call for government to take urgent action to address racism as driver of ill health

Racism in Australia is deeply entrenched and has created a “public health emergency” for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands communities, one of the country’s leading Indigenous health advocates has said.

Pat Anderson, chair of the Lowitja Institute, has called for the federal government to take urgent action to address racism “as a key driver of ill health” among Indigenous people.
