Researchers from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Victoria claimed three of this year’s Australian Museum Eureka Prizes announced in Sydney on 28 August.
Among the 19 award winners were current WEHI director, Doug Hilton, a cell biologist, who was recognised as an outstanding mentor for young scientists.
Marie-Liesse Asselin-Labat, a breast cancer researcher at the institute won the Young Researcher category.
The winners will share more than AU$180,000 in prize money.
