The Australia Council for the Arts will fund a second digital writing residency following the success of its first digital entertainment project at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.
The QUT project, called Robot University, uses touchscreen technology to challenge popular perceptions about both robots and entertainment. Its creator, Christy Dena (above), is a digital game designer and researcher who has taken up a position as adjunct professor with QUT’s creative industries faculty.
In a statement, Dena said she hoped interaction with robots would increase public empathy and understanding of the positive role that robots play in modern life.
