Antarctic research division director resigns

Tony Fleming, the director of the Australian Antarctic Division, has resigned and will step down in August.

Fleming is one of Australia’s most experienced environmental research policy administrators, and was involved in developing the federal State of the Environment reports and environment protection laws.

His resignation comes just weeks prior to the federal budget which is expected to deliver further budget cuts to federal research agencies.
