CSIRO to hold ‘TED style’ ocean research forum

Australia’s top science agency has received a federal grant to support a $1.3 million conference that will explore marine research partnerships with South Korea.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation will host the two-day event, which will develop priority areas for collaborative research projects.

Foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop announced the CSIRO ocean research grant on 30 August, as one of 46 awarded by the Australia-Korea Foundation. The agency also received a $40,000 grant to run a series of water infrastructure design workshops in Canberra, South Australia and South Korea.
