Queensland chancellor says international education market is largest source of alternative funding

Australia’s universities face a “bonfire of certainties” as federal funding declines and the contemporary role of higher education changes, University of Queensland chancellor Peter Varghese has told a national conference in Melbourne.

He said universities must “partner or perish” to generate more of their own funding and do more to commercialise their research.
