English language teaching in Australia must grow and diversify to overcome low-cost competitors, department says

Australia faces an increasingly competitive market for English language teaching, with south-east Asian countries offering cheaper courses and student accommodation, a federal draft strategy paper has said.

The paper outlines a five-year plan to grow and diversify English language courses offered by Australia’s tertiary institutions, and to improve the student experience.
