Government watchdog calls for crackdown on research fraud

Universities must raise awareness among researchers of potential misconduct issues, report says

Queensland’s universities need to tighten regulations around conflicts of interest and peer review as part of measures to prevent research fraud, the state’s corruption watchdog has said.

The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission investigated 21 allegations of “serious research misconduct” at three of the state’s universities.
