Guidelines for NHMRC Investigator scheme ask applicants and peer reviewers not to reveal their gender

Fears that researchers may be losing out on grants due to sexism have prompted the National Health and Medical Research Council to ask researchers applying for funding not to disclose their gender.

The move is outlined in guidance on the funding agency’s Investigator Grants scheme. The guidance was developed “in response to feedback from the sector and experience in previous rounds”.
