Higher education regulator considering changes to become more adaptable and deal with new challenges
Australia’s top regulator for higher education has announced that its “command and control” approach to regulation is not serving the country’s universities well.
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency will review its ways of operating to better deal with issues such as contract cheating, cybersecurity and transparency. TEQSA’s chief commissioner Peter Coaldrake said that the organisation needed to move to a more “engaged” way of working.
