University of Melbourne’s Doug Hilton welcomed by scientists as next leader of public R&D funder

Doug Hilton, a biologist at the University of Melbourne, has been named as the next chief executive of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Hilton, who currently serves as the director of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), will take up the new post on 29 September.
