Funders aim to address ‘research gaps’ around sex and gender

Australia’s largest health and medical research agencies issue statement on inclusiveness

Health and medical researchers in Australia have been told that they need to improve how they consider sex and gender when carrying out their work.

In a joint statement issued on 29 July, the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Medical Research Future Fund said they wanted to address underrepresentation and “research gaps” around how sex and gender interact with health research.
