National study finds research contracts for public industry worth almost A$1 billion

Australian public research institutions created at least 49 new companies over the course of 2022, and earned A$307 million from research commercialisation, a national survey has found.

The SCOPR study, released on 11 October by Knowledge Commercialisation Australia (KCA), found there were 836 separate “commercial deals” between Australian institutions and the private sector.
