Peter Langridge, who was named South Australia’s Scientist of the Year in 2011, has been appointed to the Premier’s Science and Industry Council, it was announced on 22 December.
He will join the 17-person group that advises the state premier on science, research and innovation development and policy.
Langridge, who serves as chief executive officer at the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics, will take up the post on 1 January for a two-year period.
