WA reappoints Beazley as chief scientist

Lyn Beazley has been reappointed chief scientist of Western Australia, the innovation minister, John Day, said in a statement on 23 January.

He praised Beazley, a neuroscientist, as a “passionate advocate” for science and innovation in the state.

“Lyn works tirelessly to connect the science community with industry to create partnerships and also encourages people of all ages, from primary school to university and beyond, to become involved in science,” he said.

Beazley has held the post, which involves advising the state government on science policy, since December 2006.
