Date set for Chubb’s ‘sustainable and excellent’ science strategy

Australia’s chief scientist Ian Chubb will present the first draft of a national research strategy to the country’s top science policy advisory body on 21 June.

Chubb argued the case for a national science and technology strategy at a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Science, Innovation and Engineering Council in Melbourne on 16 April. At the council’s June meeting he will deliver a draft summary, which will be released for public comment.

“It will be high level, it will be intellectually profound, it will be sustainable and it will be excellent,” Chubb told a recent Senate Estimates economics committee hearing in Canberra.
