Federal education minister Christopher Pyne will launch a renewed push to introduce his higher education reforms, following their defeat in the Senate.
Despite last-minute concessions in an attempt to win over crossbench senators and pass the bill in the last week of parliament for 2014, it was voted down 33 to 31 by the upper house on 2 December.
The Coalition failed to gain the support of the Palmer United Party and independent senators Nick Xenophon and Jacqui Lambie.
