Turnbull urges closer scientific links with Japan

Australia’s prime minister Malcolm Turnbull has called for stronger research ties with Japan, urging both countries to work together to meet the challenges of climate change.

Speaking in Tokyo on 18 December, Turnbull said that future solutions to cutting greenhouse emissions will be “found in more innovation, technology and science”.

He said that Japan and Australia had a mutual determination to develop innovative technologies that will help “act against climate change without sacrificing economic growth”.
