Opposition leader overtakes prime minister in polls as federal government fails to ‘offer solutions’

Australia’s bushfire crisis has shown that effective leadership is “not just a title” but requires flexibility and adaptive thinking on major policy issues, a Sydney business academic has said.

Kristy Muir, chief executive of the Centre for Social Impact, a collaboration between three institutions including the University of New South Wales, says prime minister Scott Morrison “has absolutely schooled us” in leadership problems that occur at a time of national crisis.
