Australia appoints new minister for education

Alan Tudge will also serve as minister for youth following cabinet reshuffle

Australia has a new federal minister for education, Alan Tudge. Appointed in a pre-Christmas cabinet reshuffle on 18 December, he will also serve as the minister for youth.

Making the announcement, prime minister Scott Morrison said the new portfolio had “a clear brief of improving education outcomes and, in particular, helping younger Australians navigate challenges in a rapidly changing world”.
