Research Australia’s pre-budget submission urges support for universities and the health industry

More spending on health research, a push on clinical trials in the country and a second A$1 billion in rescue funds for Australian university research programmes are on Research Australia’s pre-budget wish list.

In a submission to the federal Treasury, Research Australia calls for government spending on all R&D to increase to 0.75 per cent of GDP, with the focus of the spending on medical research.
