
Minister emphasises fair access and international retention, as productivity chief warns of diminishing research returns
Australian education minister Jason Clare has said that he wants to use the government’s Jobs and Skills Summit in September to find ways to keep more international students in the country.
In a speech to the annual conference of the vice-chancellors’ group Universities Australia on 6 July, Clare said that “only 16 per cent” of international students stayed on after their degrees were completed.
