Sydney launches human rights research hub

An Institute for Democracy and Human Rights was launched by the University of Sydney on 4 December.

Research at the centre will cut across fields and include environmental politics; the representation of indigenous peoples; Australian democracy reform; religion and ethics; violence and authoritarian regimes; democratic theory and the future of democratic institutions.

Researchers and postgraduate students will work with colleagues from Australian universities and with scientists from other countries, such as Germany, China and India, the university said.
