ANU encourages staff to seek international funds

The Australian National University is seeking to raise awareness among its staff about international opportunities for research funding and has launched a programme aimed at supporting staff seeking research funding in the United States.

The programmes involve seminars for staff and targeted information-gathering from funding agencies and philanthropic funders by the ANU’s North American Office, the university said on 23 March.

“You need to form the relationships, you need to establish why they should be funding someone in Australia rather than someone in the US and it is important to be known to and know of the system. That is what this program is about–it is about getting people to understand the system and assisting them to make the links that need to be made,” Ian Young, the ANU vice-chancellor, said.
