Scientists and health experts are urging governments to tighten regulations on caffeinated “energy” drinks, following research presented at an international conference at Deakin University in regional Victoria.
Deakin’s psychology faculty hosted the world’s first conference on energy drinks at its Geelong campus in November 2014.
It looked at research into the consumption, marketing and health risks of caffeinated energy drinks, including product labelling, marketing to children and sales of pre-mixed alcoholic energy drinks.
