VU and Real Madrid team up for soccer coaching clinics

The Real Madrid Foundation has signed a two-year deal with Victoria University in Melbourne to offer junior soccer players access to world-class professional training.

Announcing the agreement, the dean of VU’s college of sports and exercise science Hans Westerbeek said the intensive four-day training programmes will be open to talented young players aged from seven to 17 years.

He said the coaching sessions will be designed by Real Madrid coaches and VU sports science specialists and will include tactical sessions and match practice, as well and educational programmes emphasising sports leadership and ethics.
