Universities must narrow cybersecurity gap

Australian schools and universities are failing to provide students with the computer skills and work placements needed for a career in cybersecurity, according to a report commissioned by US cyberintelligence company Raytheon.

The company conducted a global survey involving almost 4,000 young adults in 12 countries, with results sorted into four areas—the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The Asia Pacific results are based on answers provided by more than 1,000 participants from Australia, Japan and South Korea, with ages ranging from 18 to 26 years.
