University wine researchers grab bunch of medals

Charles Sturt University has won six medals at a top Australian and New Zealand wine show in Sydney for a new range of wines produced by its researchers at Wagga Wagga in regional New South Wales.

The CSU winery won a gold medal and class trophy for its tempranillo rosé, and a gold medal for its tempranillo at the Australian and New Zealand Boutique Wine Show. It also won bronze medals for chardonnay, shiraz and nebbiolo.

The judges included one of Australia’s leading wine writers, Huon Hooke, and former Australian Wine Institute adviser, Gary Baldwin.
