Tehan launches ‘foreign interference’ guidelines for research

   

Risk management to include routine checks on research projects, funding sources and staff

 Australia’s universities will introduce federal measures to protect research projects, intellectual property and campus cybersecurity from foreign interference risks such as spying and data theft. 

The move follows a major data breach at the Australian National University in Canberra this year and claims that foreign donations are being used to influence research.
