Australian institutions are getting more funding to fight off data thefts and other cyber crime

The clear and present danger posed by cyber criminals and foreign intelligence agencies to Australia’s universities has been recognised again by the federal government, with a decision to boost university cyber defences this month.

Details of the funding to step up institutional protections are contained in the government’s cyber security strategy, released 6 August.
