University of Sydney seeks huge job savings

‘Doing nothing not an option’ as staff asked to consider cutting hours to minimise job losses

University of Sydney staff are being asked to consider cutting back their hours by up to 20 per cent to minimise job losses.

In emails sent out on August 19, heads of schools at the university told staff it needed to find short-term savings equivalent to up to 30 per cent of full time equivalent staff.
