University leaders say proposed law on global links places further pressure on already troubled sector

Australian researchers have been left stunned by the announcement of new federal legislation that puts their relationship with the global research community in peril.

They fear the introduction of the Foreign Relations (State and Territory Arrangements) Bill 2020 to the Australian Parliament on 3 September is another blow to a sector struggling to adapt to dire financial prospects.
