ResearcHER book aims to encourage more women in Australia and across the world into research

Kelly Pickard-Smith, an honorary research fellow at the University of Manchester in the UK, is clear that women in research careers are doing “exceptional” work. But she is frustrated that despite their achievements, women are still hitting barriers as they try to climb the career ladder.

“Women don’t need fixing. In order to progress, we don’t need more ‘women into leadership’ training,” she tells Research Professional News. “The changes need to come from the system.”
