Spinouts from Australian public research on the rise

   

Company creation and research income increase but staff numbers are down

More than 250 companies have been created from Australian public research in the past five years, a study from Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia has shown.

The membership group’s latest report says that 69 of those were created in 2021 and are worth around A$726 million in equity, up from 54 and A$555m in 2020.
