Universities stress importance of foreign students as pre-departure testing begins for people flying from China

Universities in Australia have stressed that the country remains open to Chinese students, as the year started with new restrictions on international travel.

With Covid-19 infections in China rising sharply as the country ends stringent controls on people’s movement, Australia’s health minister Mark Butler said it was a “small but sensible move” to bring in pre-departure testing for travellers from China.
