Universities crucial to health research system, review told

           

Academics and deans ask for better integration and job security in Australia’s Universities Accord

The Universities Accord process is a chance to reset the relationship between academia and Australia’s health and medical research sector, submissions to the Accord review panel have said.

The review panel has received more than 300 submission so far. Universities and health research bodies demanded the better integration of research in the health system, more secure work pathways and more money for the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), a major funder of university-led research.
