Biocides rules need tightening, MEPS say

The European Parliament’s environment committee is proposing stricter regulations on products used to control pests.

The proposed update to existing legislation covers a wide range of biocides, but not those covered by other legislation, such as agricultural pesticides. The committee wants products treated with these chemicals, such as sofas sprayed with fungicides, to be covered by the new legislation.
