A group of ten biology business organisations have published a study on the feasibility of biorefinery technologies, with a view to asking the EU to spend more money on the subject.
The Biorefinery Feasibility Study includes a blueprint for demonstration models and co-investment plans from public and private funders. Nathalie Moll, the secretary general of lobby group EuropaBio, said developing the technology would be essential to get a head start on it compared to the United States, who is also looking into biorefineries.
