EIT counters critics with grassroots drive

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology has been misunderstood and needs to do a better job of stating its remit, the organisation’s chairman has said.

Speaking at the EIT’s latest event entitled Youth and Entrepreneurship, Alexander von Gabain urged the conference to counter the misconception that the institute was “another Massachusetts Institute of Technology”, which stemmed in part, he said, from “scientists who wanted another resource for funding research”.
