Antibiotics action call
Members of the European Parliament have called on the European Commission and national governments to step up research on antibiotics and microbial resistance. In a resolution passed on 27 October, they asked the Commission to propose incentives to boost such research, and for member states and the Commission to curb the misuse of antibiotics in humans and animals. The Commission intends to present a five-year action plan on microbial resistance later this month.
