Cohesion funding must be distributed under specific conditions to be effective, the commissioner for regional policy Johannes Hahn has said.
Last month, EU regions criticised the proposal to give funding only to regions that fulfil specific macro-economic conditions. Speaking at the conference “Towards an optimal cohesion policy for Europe” in Brussels on 22 November, Hahn defended the European Commission’s plans for 2014-2020.
