Cell biologist Randy Schekman will lead the future open access journal eLife, together with managing editor Mark Patterson, its publishers announced.
Schekman, former editor-in-chief of the journal PNAS, was appointed editor-in-chief of eLife earlier this year (see RFT 12/07/2011). Patterson, previously director of publishing at PLoS, will oversee the journal’s business aspects.
